This is a type of cast nylon containing a combined liquid/solid wax lubricant system giving it an extremely low coefficient of friction- one of the lowest of any plastic material. Its outstanding wear resistance means that wax-filled Nylon lends itself to many applications where this may be important, such as dry running bearing applications.
