Engineering Plastics
A large range of products with a huge number of applications, this section covers the large majority of product we supply. We can offer Nylons in a range of forms with various fillers, Acetal/Delrin, Polyester (Ertalyte) and a range of Polyethylenes.
Nylons
Within the polyamides, commonly referred to as ‘Nylons’, we distinguish different types. The most important ones are: PA 6, PA 66, PA 11 and PA 12. The differences in plysical properties which exist between these types are mainly determined by the composition and structure of their molecular chains.
AI International supply various grades of Nylon, and are official distributors for Ertalon and Nylatron.
Acetal
These are polyacetal (POM) grades. Copolymer grades (POM-C) tend to be more resistant against hydrolysis, strong alkalis and thermal-oxidative degredation than the homopolymer grades. The homopolymer grades (POM-H, also refered to as Delrin) have a higher mechanical strength, stiffness, hardness and creep resistance as well as a lower thermal expansion rate and often it also presents a better wear resistance.
AI International supply various grades of Acetal and Delrin and are official distributors for the Ertacetal range.
PET-P
PET-P (polyethylene terephtalate), commonly referred to as ‘Polyesters’, are crystalline thermoplastics (of which Quadrant’s range are marketed under the trade names Ertalyte and Ertalyte TX). PET-P offers excellent wear resistance, exceptionally good dimensional stability and one of the lowest water absorption rates of any plastic material.
Polyethylene
Cestilene and Tivar are trade names used by Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products for its extensive range of virgin, partially reprocessed, coloured, and filled High Density Polyethylene stock shapes, manufactured by compression moulding or extrusion.
In addition to the basic grades, there are advance grades offering tailored properties for specific applications.
